Job summary

Staff 360 is partnering with a large-scale family farming operation in northern NSW to recruit two Harvest & Cotton Machinery Operators. The roles involve operating harvesting and cropping equipment across Rowena/Walgett region with potential for couple travel.

Strong machinery background and willingness to work long harvest/planning hours are valued. Ideal candidates will have experience with tractors, harvest equipment, GPS guidance systems, and basic servicing.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large harvesting and cropping machinery across broadacre farms.
• Competent with GPS or guided-automation equipment used on large-scale farms.
• Good mechanical awareness and ability to perform basic servicing.

Job description

Harvest & Cotton Machinery Operators – Northern NSW (2 Positions)

Rowena / Walgett Region | Immediate Start | Mixed Cropping Season

We have two positions available with a large-scale family farming operation in northern NSW, working across mixed cropping properties in the Rowena / Walgett region.

This is a good opportunity for a couple or two mates travelling together, although strong individual applicants will also be considered.

The work will cover a mix of the upcoming wheat and cereal harvest followed by cotton planting, irrigation and general cropping operations. The core of the roles is machinery operation, with some irrigation and general farm work required as the season progresses.

Typical work will include:

• Wheat and cereal harvest operations
• Chaser bin and general harvest machinery work
• Tractor and cropping machinery operation
• Cotton planting and ground preparation
• Irrigation work during the cotton season
• General machinery servicing and maintenance
• Farm and paddock preparation
• General labouring where required between machinery operations

The farm operates modern large-scale machinery, so we are particularly interested in candidates with good experience operating tractors, harvest equipment and GPS-guided machinery.

Experience with John Deere or similar modern machinery will be highly regarded.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous broadacre cropping or harvest experience
• Strong tractor and machinery operating skills
• Experience with GPS / guidance systems
• Good mechanical awareness and ability to assist with servicing
• A willingness to help with irrigation and general farm duties when required
• Ability to work long hours during peak harvest and planting periods

Cotton or irrigation experience would be useful but is not essential if you have a strong machinery background and are willing to learn. This should provide a good run of work across different parts of the cropping season rather than a short harvest-only position.
