Job summary

R H Boyd & Son Pty Ltd, a dairy farm located in Nowra on the NSW South Coast, is seeking skilled farm machinery operators to join our team. Responsibilities include feeding cows, unloading hay and grain, loader work, and crop preparation for winter and summer seasons.

Successful applicants should have relevant experience and be prepared for hands-on, physical work. We welcome local permanent staff and skilled overseas operators for longer commitments, with shared accommodation available for

• Experience operating farm machinery and equipment is essential.
• Ability to work with telehandlers, loaders, and other farm gear.
• Willingness to perform manual tasks and get hands dirty when required.

Responsibilities

• Feed cows using telehandlers and mixer wagon.
• Unload hay and grain trucks.
• Handle loader work and general site cleanup/maintenance/fencing.
• Assist with winter and summer crop prep, planting, upkeep and harvest.
• Most machinery work is done on site; some tasks may require physical effort.

Job description

We are a dairy farm located in Nowra on the South Coast of NSW, we are 2 hours south of Sydney. As part of the dairy farm we grow a large amount of the forages ourselves locally including corn and triticale for silage and ryegrass pastures.

We are looking for skilled farm machinery operators to join the farm.

NOTE: Do not apply if you do not have the relevant experience.

Commencing anytime for right applicant but would hope otherwise before the end of September.

Depending on experience and the time of year jobs could include:

Feeding of cows using telehandlers/mixer wagon

Unloading of hay and grain trucks

General loader and clean up/maintenance/fencing work around the farm

All activities associated with the preparation, planting, upkeep and harvest of winter and summer crops including cereal crops, corn crops and grass crops.

Majority of machinery work is done in house

NOTE: Even though this is a machinery operator position, manual labor and getting your hands dirty is part of the job. If you are afraid of getting your hands dirty and hard work, don’t bother applying!

These positions can be for full time local/permanent staff but also encourage skilled overseas ag machinery operators to apply that can commit to at least 6-8 months work.

A truck license is not essential for this position but could be an advantage.

Pay dependent on experience. Shared accommodation is also available on farm for seasonal staff.
