Job summary

BHP's Perth Rebuild Centre in Welshpool, WA is seeking safety-conscious, technically skilled Diesel Fitters to join the Machine Rebuilds Team. The role offers a 7 on 7 off day shift (6am-6pm) with home every night, and a fast-paced workshop servicing 785C, 793D/F trucks, D10T dozers, 16M/18 graders and 854/992 loaders.

You will disse mb le and reassemble CAT machinery, promote safety, and drive continuous improvement while upholding BHP's standards.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-trade experience.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Proven experience with CAT heavy earthmoving equipment rebuilds.
• Proficient in CAT SIS (essential).
• High-risk licences: Forklift & Dogging (essential); Rigging (desirable).
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Committed to safety and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble CAT machinery, including dump trucks, graders, dozers, and loaders.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support ongoing training and technical development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop.

We're currently seeking safety-conscious, technically skilled Diesel Fitters to join our Machine Rebuilds Team in Welshpool, WA. Enjoy a 7 on 7 off day shift only roster (Wednesday-Tuesday, 6am-6pm), where you will have the opportunity to drive to work and be home every night!
We're currently rebuilding a range of machines including 785C, 793D/F trucks, D10T dozers, 16M/18 graders, and 854/992 loaders. The workshop runs at a fast pace with strict deadlines, so strong rebuild and outage experience is essential.

Your Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Disassemble and assemble CAT machinery, including dump trucks, graders, dozers, and loaders
• Promote a strong safety culture and support ongoing training and technical development
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop

About You

• Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter (or equivalent)
