Job summary

The Kitchenary, part of the Woolworths Group, is seeking experienced Machine Operators for our Sydney production teams to help produce ready-made meals for major retail brands. You will own your line, operate high-speed equipment, and work with dedicated teams to keep production running safely and efficiently.

You will perform start-ups, shutdowns, changeovers, adjust settings, troubleshoot faults, and conduct quality checks while upholding GMP standards and food safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator in food manufacturing.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs/work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Confidence with start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Familiarity with GMP/HACCP and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery at full capacity.
• Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Adjust settings, change tools, and optimise performance.
• Troubleshoot faults before escalating to maintenance.
• Complete quality checks (metal detection, weights, seals, gas checks).

• Work closely with production, QA and maintenance teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, you’ll take ownership of your line and keep production running smoothly, safely, and efficiently:

Operating and monitoring production machinery at full capacity

Performing machine start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers

Adjusting settings, changing tools, and optimising performance

Troubleshooting faults before escalating to maintenance

Completing quality checks (metal detection, weights, seals, gas checks)

Maintaining GMP standards and ensuring food safety compliance

Working closely with production, QA and maintenance teams

What You Bring

Experience as a Machine Operator in food manufacturing

Confidence with machine start-ups, changeovers and troubleshooting

Understanding of quality checks and food safety (GMP, HACCP)

Ability to read and follow SOPs / work instructions

Strong attention to detail and safety mindset

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Basic computer skills (MES or similar systems preferred)
