Job summary

Workhorse Staffing in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for a day shift role at a busy manufacturing site. You will operate roll formers, slitters, bending and folding machinery, set up and monitor equipment, and perform quality checks.

The position offers AUD 36 per hour plus super, with 6:00am to 2:30pm shifts, overtime options, and a clear path to permanent employment in a clean, modern facility with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with sheet metal, steel, roofing or similar manufacturing is highly regarded.
• Overhead crane experience is preferred.
• Forklift licence and experience are a plus.
• Mechanical mindset with ability to work around industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate roll formers, slitters, bending and folding machinery.
• Set up and monitor machinery throughout production runs.
• Handle and move sheet metal and finished products.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Assist with loading, unloading and general production duties.
• Operate an overhead crane to move materials safely.
• Forklift operation where licensed.
• Maintain safety, quality and production targets.
