Job summary

Fetch Recruitment is sourcing experienced Machine Operators for a Melbourne South East food manufacturing site. The role covers afternoon and night shifts, operating production and packaging machinery, and maintaining output with strict food safety standards.

You will engage in sanitation tasks, support changeovers, and may take on leadership responsibilities for night shifts as you gain experience. Competitive rates with shift loadings apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or FMCG production.
• Experience operating production or packaging machinery.
• Flow wrapper experience highly regarded.
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Reliable, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Senior operator or team leadership experience highly regarded, particularly for night shift opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring production and packaging machinery.
• Operating flow wrapping equipment and ensuring consistent packaging quality.
• Completing machine adjustments and troubleshooting minor operational issues.
• Assisting with production line changeovers and maintaining production output.
• Undertaking cleaning and sanitation duties across machinery and production areas.
• Completing quality checks and following food safety procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

About the Company

Our client is an established food manufacturing business based in Melbourne's South East, supplying quality food products through a busy production and packaging operation.
Due to ongoing production requirements, they are looking to add experienced Machine Operators to their team across afternoon and night shift.

Available Shifts & Rates

Afternoon Shift

• 3:00pm – 11:00pm
• $37–$41 per hour + 15% shift loading

Night Shift

• 10:00pm – 6:00am
• $37–$41 per hour + 30% shift loading
• Higher rates negotiable for experienced senior operators.

About the Role

Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for operating production and packaging machinery, maintaining output and ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.
The role will involve a combination of production, packaging and sanitation duties, with opportunities for experienced operators to take on greater responsibility.
