Job summary

Fortescue operates Solomon mine and is seeking a qualified HD Mechanic or Auto Electrician for a machine inspector role. The position involves pre-service inspections, audits and minor repairs on the Ancillary Fleet, working largely autonomously with daily planned inspections, under a FIFO roster ex-Perth.

The role requires a trade certificate, mining heavy-vehicle experience, SAP CMMS and WesTrac SIS 2.0 knowledge, and a valid C licence.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate is essential.
• Extensive mining experience on heavy vehicles, especially Ancillary Equipment.
• Knowledge and application of SAP CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of WesTrac SIS 2.0.
• Current C Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of mobile equipment and minor repairs.
• Create notifications/work orders in SAP and order parts.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Conduct MCRS pre- and post-inspections and contribute to scope.
• Collaborate with reliability engineers on fleet analysis and onsite supervision.

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R 7N/7R– FIFO ex Perth
Our Solomon mobile maintenance team is seeking a qualified HD Mechanic or Auto Electrician for a machine inspector role. The role will carry out pre-service inspections, audits and minor repairs on Ancillary Fleet. It will work largely autonomously, conducting planned inspections daily on our Ancillary Fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Detailed inspections of mobile equipment and minor repairs
• Creating notifications/work orders in SAP and ordering parts
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
• Conduct MCRS pre- and post-inspections and contribute to work scope
• Liaise with reliability engineers to conduct fleet analysis and provide support to the onsite Supervisor

Qualifications And Experience

• Trade Certificate is essential
• Demonstrated and significant experience working in mining on heavy vehicle maintenance, preferably Ancillary Equipment.
• SAP CMMS systems knowledge and application
• WesTrac SIS 2.0 knowledge
• Current C Drivers Licence
