Job summary

Fortescue Metals Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to support the Eliwana processing plant. You will perform high-quality maintenance on ore processing facilities, including crushers, screens, conveyors, gearboxes and pumps, ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will take on leading hand duties when required, uphold Zero Harm safety standards, and collaborate with maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (essential).
• Experience in Fixed Plant maintenance, including crushing, screening, conveying, and pumping systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance systems such as SAP.
• Strong communication skills with a passion for leading, mentoring, and driving high performance

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance across Ore Processing Facilities, including screens, conveyors, crushers, gear box and pumps.

Work Location:Eliwana -Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

This position sits within our Process Plant and provides critical operational and maintenance support to ensure the safe and efficient daily running of large-scale fixed plant equipment at Eliwana. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance that directly supports site safety, reliability, and production targets.
