Job summary

JBS Australia operates the Cobram plant and is seeking a Full Time Mechanical Fitter for day and afternoon shifts. You will help ensure asset uptime, perform planned and unplanned maintenance, and support continuous improvements across equipment and systems.

Ideal candidates hold a mechanical fitter trade qualification, have maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, and are available for shift work with reliable transport. Q fever vaccination is encouraged where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical fitter trade qualification and maintenance/repair experience.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Be available for shift work and have reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, reliability and capability of assets.

About the role:

JBS are seeking applications for the position of Full Time Mechanical Fitters Day and Afternoon Shift in Cobram. We are seeking skilled and energetic individuals who are committed to providing an effective professional service and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring the availability, reliability and capability of relevant assets
• Monitor, follow-up and address issues associated with the implementation and process of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
• Continuous improvement of equipment and systems.
• Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances

About you:

• Have amechanical fittertrade qualification and be experienced in maintenance/repair, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Have an understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
• Be available for shift work where required
• Have reliable transport and license
• Possess a thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
• Have been Q fever vaccinated or willing to have Q fever vaccination.
