Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Long Distance Driver based at the Qantas Freight Terminal in Perth. You will operate heavy and multi‑combination vehicles, coordinating with our Melbourne-based driver at Mundrabilla and returning to Perth, with occasional trips to other cities.

As a Long Distance Driver based at the Qantas Freight Terminal Perth, you will be responsible for operating heavy and multi-combination vehicles. Primarily you will be completing changeover work, coordinating with our Melbourne based driver at Mundrabilla before returning to Perth. Also, you’ll need to perform local work duties as well. Occasionally, there may be a requirement to drive straight through to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

This position operates on a rotating 7-day roster, with departures typically scheduled for the early afternoon. In addition to long-distance linehaul duties, you will also be required to support local operations as needed, including the loading and delivery of cargo.

To be successful in this position you’ll have:

• A MC drivers licence
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster and the ability to work night shifts
• A clean driving record
• High attention to detail and focus on safety.
• Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
