Reporting to the Senior Logistics Officer, this role plays a key part in coordinating daily logistics activities, managing team performance, and supporting Wilmar’s commitment to safety and operational excellence for our Burdekin mills.

As Wilmar continues to modernise our operations, this role will also contribute to our digital transformation – leveraging data and insights to inform decisions on automation, and emerging technologies to deliver more efficient logistics outcomes.

Your responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, monitor and optimise daily cane transport logistics to improve efficiency and minimise delays.
  • Manage and support logistics staff to deliver safe and effective operations.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Identify risks and ensure compliance with transport, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Ensure we operate as ONE Team and contribute to the success of the Cane Supply and Transport Team.
  • Build strong working relationships with growers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Locomotive, rollingstock and equipment coordination, coordinate with maintenance personnel to monitor the availability and reliability of locomotives, rollingstock and associated equipment. Assist with planning maintenance requirements and managing operational disruptions to minimise impacts on cane transport.
  • Seasonal planning and operational readiness, contribute to pre-crush planning, including workforce readiness, training, resource allocation, logistics planning and operational risk assessments. Support end-of-season reviews to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities for future crushing seasons.
  • Digital systems and technology improvement, support the effective use of logistics planning and operational systems, including ToTools and other relevant digital platforms. Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, automate routine processes and use emerging technologies to enhance safety, efficiency and decision-making.
About you:
