Job summary

Wilmar Sugar in the Burdekin Region seeks an Electrician to maintain electrical safety and reliability across our Invicta Mill. This permanent day shift role is based in the Burdekin Region and focuses on keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will install, commission, diagnose, and optimise electrical systems, work with PLCs and LV motor controls, and contribute to renewable projects and biomass boiler performance. Training is provided to support your growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
• Post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation
• CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications required
• Familiar with LV motor control and PLC systems; training provided

Responsibilities

• Power Up Equipment: installation, calibration, and maintenance of critical electrical systems
• Diagnose and Optimize: troubleshoot and fine-tune interconnected circuit systems
• Keep Records Sharp: manage departmental plans, databases and essential documentation
• System Commissioning & Tuning: commission and fine-tune electrical systems for peak performance
• Master Complex Control Systems: fault finding in pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor-based and mechanical subsystems
• Lead Special Projects: collaborate on projects driving innovation and improvement
• Be a Safety Champion: actively participate in safety improvement teams
• Electrify our Future: integrate renewable tech and optimise biomass boilers and steam turbine generators

As an Electrician you will play a vital role in maintaining the electrical safety and reliability of our operations in theBurdekin Region.You'll be at the forefront of ensuring our equipment and systems run smoothly, helping us maintain the highest safety standards and operational efficiency.

This is a permanent day work position within our Invicta Mill, based in the Burdekin Region.

Your Role in Action

• Power Up Equipment:Handle the installation, calibration, and maintenance of critical electrical systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Diagnose and Optimize:Examine, troubleshoot, and fine-tune interconnected circuit systems to keep operations running without a hitch.
• Keep Records Sharp:Manage and maintain departmental plans, databases, and all essential documentation for seamless operations.
• System Commissioning & Tuning:Commission and fine-tune electrical systems to achieve peak performance and reliability.
• Master Complex Control Systems:Tackle fault finding in advanced electrical control systems, working with combinations of pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor-based, and mechanical subsystems.

Your Winning Combination

We're looking for a motivated individual with a current Queensland Electrical Work Licence and post-trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation work. Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications are required. Ideally, you'll also have experience with fixed plant maintenance, and familiarity with LV motor control and PLC systems.
