Job summary

Australian Department of Defence in Campbell ACT seeks an APS 6 Logistics Assurance Business Analyst to improve inventory accountability and governance through data analysis and reporting. You will work with BI tools to monitor compliance and support annual assurance programs.

The role involves liaising with internal teams and external bodies, delivering reports, and contributing to policy and process improvements within Defence logistics.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and analyse business data to identify trends, risks and performance issues to inform evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience using business intelligence tools to develop insights for decision making.
• Understanding of logistics assurance and compliance, audit or governance in a large organisation.
• Financial and inventory management awareness relevant to Defence inventory.

Responsibilities

• Undertake business process analytics and data analysis to identify trends, compliance risks, inventory discrepancies and opportunities for process improvement over Defence's inventory management systems.
• Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms and platforms, and business intelligence products to support compliance monitoring.
• Support the planning and execution of annual Assurance Programs, including National Asset and Inventory Sample, with testing, stocktake, verification and evidence gathering.
• Support the development and maintenance of logistics assurance procedures, process maps, work instructions and governance documentation.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Defence’s Statistician, Groups, Services and the Australian National Audit Office to support logistics assurance and compliance outcomes.
• Provide support across LAB functions to meet emerging priorities and operational requirements.
