Job summary

Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight operator, is seeking Qualified Locomotive Drivers to join teams across Sydney – Enfield, Menangle and St Mary’s. You’ll safely prepare, inspect and operate locomotives, and work with Train Control to deliver DIFOT performance.

You will bring a Certificate IV in Train Driving, NSW route knowledge, freight rail experience, and a strong commitment to safety, with the ability to work independently or in a team on a 24/7 rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Train Driving (please upload during application).
• NSW route knowledge highly regarded.
• Freight rail experience.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Professional and accountable approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to meet rail medical requirements.
• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect and operate locomotives safely.
• Operate train services in accordance with rail safety standards and Pacific National procedures.
• Complete operational and compliance documentation.
• Work collaboratively with Train Control and operational teams.
• Deliver strong DIFOT performance.
• Identify and report hazards and safety risks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety and safe work practices.
• Contribute to a positive team culture.
