Job summary

Santos Limited in Gladstone region invites an Operations Technician to join the GLNG facility on Curtis Island. You will perform operational and minor maintenance duties, ensuring safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation to meet daily production targets.

Key accountabilities include safe operation of Process/Utility areas, issuing permits, gas testing, equipment isolation, and contributing to shutdown planning and incident reviews while maintaining clear shift handovers and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in hydrocarbon facility operations and safe work practices.
• Familiarity with SWPP and permit management processes.
• Ability to read isometrics, P&IDs and basic drawings.
• Emergency response participation and gas testing experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate Process and Utility areas safely to meet daily targets.
• Respond safely to emergencies as part of the response team.
• Issue work permits, perform gas testing, ensure SWPP compliance.
• Prepare and isolate equipment for maintenance, recommission after.
• Record all work in the site maintenance management system.
• Improve reliability with Operator Essential Care routines.
• Identify hazards and participate in risk assessments.
• Contribute to shutdown and turnaround planning/execution.
• Maintain structured shift handovers and clear communications.
• Provide cover for Supervisors, Panel Technician, and Permit Coordinator when needed.
