Job summary

UNSW Kensington Campus is seeking an LMS Engineer to lead the technical build, configuration, and integration of the university's new Learning Management System. You will work across cloud and on‑premise environments, align with stakeholders, and ensure secure, scalable learning platforms for staff and students.

You will collaborate with data teams, designers, and vendors in an Agile setting, participate in testing, migration, and governance, and support go‑live for a major education technology

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience, with strong expertise across multiple technology domains (e.g. web applications, cloud platforms, infrastructure, databases, security).
• Demonstrated ability to analyse, design, and implement complex technical solutions, applying new technologies and concepts.
• Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments, with a focus on iterative and high-quality solution outcomes.
• Proficiency using delivery and workflow management tools (e.g. JIRA, MS TFS) to track and manage work.
• Experience preparing and executing test cases, with a solid understanding of end-to-end testing practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build strong working relationships across IT and the business.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative and adaptable team player, able to work independently while coaching and supporting others on complex delivery.
• Strong customer focus, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Demonstrated alignment with UNSW values, policies, and health and safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Platform configuration and build.
• Configure LMS toolsets, features, org structure, home pages, widgets, and dashboards.
• Support role and permissions configuration at multiple levels.
• Configure branding, course templates, and blueprint courses.
• Integrations between LMS and UNSW systems.
• Work with integration teams on data flows and SSO/identity configuration.
• Data, reporting and analytics support for dashboards and institutional reporting.
• Coordinate with Data Engineer on data flows to BI environment.
• Testing and quality: plan, test, and defect resolution.
• Migration support: course conversion and bulk migration tooling.
• Collaborate with learning designers on migration issues.
• Business case and program delivery support; governance reporting.
