Job summary

Broken Hill City Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the temporary full-time role of Living Desert Ranger/Labourer for up to six months. Reporting to the Living Desert Ranger, you will assist with daily operations at the Living Desert, Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, Starview Primitive Campsite, Willyama Common and Regeneration Area.

• Enthusiastic to experience working at the Living Desert
• Experience in labouring and gardening duties desired
• Knowledge of local flora, fauna and Aboriginal culture desirable
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to assist in repairs and maintenance

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the Living Desert, Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, Starview Primitive Campsite, Willyama Common and Regeneration Area to keep areas presentable, secure and safe for the community
• Assist in completing general repairs and maintenance of infrastructure
• Communicate effectively with team and contribute to a collaborative work environment
