Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Consumer Lived Experience Support Worker (AOD) to join our team. You will bring your lived experience to support people with co-occurring mental ill health and substance use, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to enable recovery goals and practical support.

You will promote peer support principles, contribute to professional development, and work within Mercy Health across multiple sites, including Werribee Mercy Hospital and Wyndham Clinic.

Qualifications

• Direct lived-experience with mental health and/or AOD recovery.
• Ability to share consumer experience to support others.
• Understanding of peer-support principles and MH recovery.
• Trauma-informed approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals.
• Provide practical assistance and support learning.
• Engage with consumers and families to facilitate care.
• Contribute to capacity building across Mercy Health.
