Job summary

Delaware North Australia seeks a Dive Instructor for Lizard Island Resort to lead safe water-based activities and diving instruction for guests. The role combines operation oversight with guest service excellence in a remote Great Barrier Reef setting.

You will manage equipment, schedules, and safety protocols, while leveraging marine knowledge to enrich guest experiences and uphold resort standards.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of the marine environment, with a focus on Coral Reef Systems.
• Experience managing the admin and operations of a busy activities department or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of marine and tourism activities, including safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, informative instruction for diving and snorkeling to all guest levels.
• Maintain dive shop stock and ensure equipment is clean and available.
• Follow schedules and monitor weather, tides, sunrise/sunset timings.
• Orient new guest arrivals and explain activities and timings.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained and functional.
