Job summary

APG Workforce is recruiting for a poultry processing role at a Breakwater, Geelong plant. You will work in the slaughter department, hanging chickens on conveyors and monitoring critical equipment, with a focus on safety and hygiene.

Shifts run from 2:15am to 10:45am or 11:45am to 8:30pm. Suitable candidates have basic food industry knowledge and the ability to lift up to 25kg, with forklift experience a bonus.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food manufacturing with HACCP/food handling certificates would be an advantage.
• Reliable and enthusiastic for early morning starts.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Hanging chickens onto overhead conveyor line.
• Observing live chickens.
• Monitoring of the eviscerator machine.
• Machine operator and troubleshooting.
• Cleaning of slaughter area.
• Stacking and washing crates and bins.

Job description

Our client, one of the leading providers for the fresh poultry industry in Australia, is seeking process workers for the slaughter department at their plant, located in Breakwater, Geelong.

To be considered for this role you must be reliable and enthusiastic for early morning starts.

About the role;

• Hanging chickens onto overhead conveyor line
• Observing live chickens
• Monitoring of the eviscerator machine
• Machine operator and trouble shooting
• Cleaning of slaughter area
• Stacking and washing crates and bins
• Shift times: 2:15am – 10:45am / 11:45am – 8:30pm
• $43.32 per hour + allowances + super
• A basic knowledge of the food manufacturing environment with HACCP or food handling certificates would be an advantage.

Ideally you will:

• Be physically fit
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Happy to work on your own
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and movements
• Able to lift up to 25kg
• Forklift licence and experience desirable but not essential
