Job summary

Novalith, a Sydney-based clean technology start-up, seeks a Laboratory Technician to join the R&D team. You will work on lithium-processing research, operate lab and pilot plant equipment, and contribute to safety and data integrity.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and has at least 2 years’ lab experience, with familiarity in GLP and WHS. A dynamic, fast-paced environment offers growth opportunities and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, metallurgy, physics or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant lab experience in chemical/metallurgical labs.
• Knowledge of GLP and WHS regulations and safe lab practices.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot lab equipment and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, design, and operate lab and pilot plant equipment.
• Set up reactor systems, gas handling, and related equipment.
• Run lithium-recovery process tests, sample prep and data recording.
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of lab instruments.
• Analyze data and prepare technical reports for internal meetings.
• Follow WHS rules and promote a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team to develop testing methods and improvements.
