Job summary

Swan Hill College, part of the Department of Education Victoria, seeks Learning Specialists to model excellence in teaching and learning while continuing to teach in the classroom. You will demonstrate high-quality practice, mentor and coach teachers, and lead school-based professional learning through PLCs and observation feedback.

You will work with the Leadership Team to promote literacy and numeracy across the curriculum, use data to inform teaching, and support student engagement, wellbeing

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• Expertise in applying high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth using data.
• Proven ability to model assessment, give feedback to students, parents and staff, and support data-informed decision making.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with students, colleagues and the wider school community.
• Ability to lead professional learning and mentor teachers in a school-based context.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leaders to develop a shared view of effective teaching.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum delivery.
• Provide professional learning, observation feedback, and peer collaboration.
• Support teachers to analyse data and provide feedback on student growth.
