Job summary

Swan Hill College seeks a Learning Specialist - Disability Inclusion to lead inclusive teaching practice and literacy/numeracy development. The role emphasises expert curriculum knowledge, high impact strategies and professional learning leadership within a dynamic school community.

The successful candidate will work with staff to model exemplary pedagogy, monitor student progress and contribute to whole-school improvement and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching practice across literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Demonstrated expertise in implementing high impact teaching strategies and using data to show learning growth.
• SC3: Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning and support data-informed feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, parents and the community.
• SC5: Demonstrated alignment with Department values and capacity to lead professional learning and reflect on practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice, including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leadership to define effective teaching practices.
• Lead school-wide improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Provide professional learning and feedback to teaching staff to improve practice.
• Mentor and coach teachers and supervise student teachers.
