The role provides hybrid working arrangements and a clear path to automate health checks using Ansible/Jenkins/GitHub, with strong focus on incident management and service continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience in running operations with ITIL processes; ITIL certification preferred.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with ownership during P1/P2 incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to interact with customer and offshore teams.
• Identify service improvements, automation opportunities, incident reduction, and knowledge reuse.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to transition needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Linux/Unix server operations for Sydney-based client environment (build, run, patch, monitor).
• Own RHEL/Linux and Unix operational activities (user/group mgmt, filesystem/LVM, services, packages).
• Coordinate server support across physical, virtual and cloud workloads (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).
• Oversee 24x7 monitoring, incidents, changes, problems, service requests, assets and availability.
• Drive patch planning, validation, remediation, rollback planning and risk tracking.
• Support critical incidents, RCA, corrective actions during business windows.
• Coordinate with storage, backup, database, network, security and apps teams.
• Maintain ServiceNow/CMDB accuracy, inventory, SOPs, runbooks, docs.
• Prepare shift rosters and drive governance forums with customers and stakeholders.
• Train L1/L2/L3 colleagues on procedures and runbooks.
• Support RFP/solution inputs for Linux/Unix run services and transitions.
• Drive automation for health checks, patch reporting, log collection and self-healing using Ansible/Jenkins/GitHub or equivalents.
