Job summary

Optiver is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to design, build and operate on‑prem bare‑metal Linux platforms and Kubernetes clusters across our global data centers. You will evolve our Kubernetes platform while supporting and improving our high‑performance Linux estate, ensuring reliability and scalability in a demanding trading environment.

Responsibilities include deploying on‑prem Rancher‑managed clusters, managing Cilium, ArgoCD and Rancher, building CI/CD pipelines with ArgoCD and GitHub

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems engineering in production environments.
• Hands-on experience operating on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with Rancher, Cilium or other CNIs, ArgoCD, Terraform and CI/CD tools.
• Solid networking knowledge (L2/L3, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
• Experience with incident response and post-mortem driven improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate on-prem bare-metal Linux platforms and Kubernetes clusters.
• Own core Kubernetes components (Cilium, ArgoCD, Rancher) and related tooling.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform and on-prem systems.
• Build CI/CD workflows for infrastructure and cluster deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive reliability and performance improvements.
