Job summary

SEEK is looking for a proactive Linehaul Allocator to manage national freight movements across Australia. You will be the key link between drivers, customers, and the operations team, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries and smooth daily logistics.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll plan routes, monitor fleet movements, and resolve operational issues while coordinating with depots and customers to optimise service performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in linehaul allocation and logistics coordination.
• Strong understanding of linehaul, local operations, and driver compliance.
• Understanding of interstate/local routes, travel/loading times, rest breaks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and allocate linehaul runs across the national network.
• Manage end-to-end contracts, including local pickups and last mile deliveries.
• Coordinate with customers for pickups/deliveries and cross-dock activities.
• Monitor fleet movements and adjust schedules in real time.
• Liaise with drivers, depots, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with fatigue, safety, and chain-of-responsibility requirements.
• Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.
• Maintain records, manifests, PODs, and driver run sheets.
• Support fleet utilisation improvement and service performance.
• Work with Fleet and Compliance Supervisors to minimise downtime via RM.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Linehaul Allocator to manage and optimise our national freight movements. In this fast‑paced role, you’ll be the key link between our drivers, customers, and operations team—ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and allocate linehaul runs across the national network
• Manage entire contracts from end to end, including local pickups and last mile deliveries
• Working with customer direct pickups and deliveries, and crossdock pickups and deliveries
• Monitor fleet movements and adjust schedules in real time
• Liaise with drivers, depots, and customers to ensure smooth operations
• Manage compliance with fatigue, safety, and chain‑of‑responsibility requirements
• Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
• Maintain accurate records, manifests, PODs and driver run sheets
• Work closely with Fleet and Compliance Supervisors to minimise downtown through R&M requirements
• Support continuous improvement in fleet utilisation and service performance

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in linehaul allocation and logistics coordination
• Strong understanding of linehaul and local operations and driver compliance
• Solid understanding of interstate and local routes, travel and loading times and rest breaks
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills supported by formal training (advantageous)
• Ability to multitask, make fast decisions and remain calm under pressure
• Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS)
• A team‑focused mindset with a commitment to safety and service
