Job summary

Varsity invites applications from motivated cooks to join our vibrant kitchen in Perth. You will master food preparation, follow recipes, and ensure meals are served promptly while maintaining a hygienic, safe kitchen.

You’ll work across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations, supporting stock rotation and team training. We value infectious enthusiasm, a can-do attitude and a love of good food and good times.

Qualifications

• Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery preferred.
• Infectious enthusiasm and positivity.
• A can-do attitude.
• A love of good food and good times.
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity standard.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, adhering to guidelines and cleaning systems.
• Participate in all technical cooking aspects including grilling, deep frying, and cooking meat and poultry.
• Work across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Support stock rotation and keep ingredients fresh for guests.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support the training of the team.
• Bring passion for food and a positive attitude to every shift.

What will you do?

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to the Varsity standard.


• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.


• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.


• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, that adheres to all food preparation and cleanliness guidelines. Also ensuring staff are following the kitchen cleaning systems.


• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking including but not limited to grilling, deep frying, and cooking meat and poultry.


• Work across all stations in the kitchen including prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.


• Support with stock rotation, making sure our ingredients are as fresh as can be for our guests.


• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.


• Support the training of the team.
