Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited in Queensland is seeking Line Chefs to join a large catering team on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster. The role involves buffet-style cooking for Breakfast, Crib Lunch, Dinner and Desserts, with DIDO from Central QLD or FIFO from Brisbane available.

You will work with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room staff, ensure OH&S and food safety, minimise wastage, and help develop the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chef with a minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery or Equivalent.
• Bulk catering or buffet experience is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and great time management.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees.
• Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast and Crib Lunch, or Dinner and Desserts.
• Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures.
• Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to a minimum.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness.
• Assist Head Chefs in managing team performance and employee development.
