Job summary

National Measurement Institute in Canberra is seeking a motivated LIMS Administrator (APS6 equivalent) to manage and support the LIMS system. The role involves developing functionality with VGL, configuring software, testing changes, and producing technical documentation for staff.

You will work closely with ICT and business units to troubleshoot, improve data integrity, and deliver accurate reports for senior management. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this critical role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in LIMS administration or similar laboratory information systems.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages listed (VGL, .NET C#, Visual Basic, Java, HTML).
• Strong database administration skills and SQL usage for data extraction/correction.
• Familiarity with laboratory environments and data processing tools.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the LIMS system (Sample Manager or similar).
• Develop and enhance functionality using VGL; configure software and test changes.
• Produce technical documentation and user guides for LIMS users.
• Collaborate with ICT teams and business units to deliver improvements.
• Generate reports for management and ensure data integrity and security.
• Provide training and support to staff on LIMS usage.
