Job summary

Bertil Service Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic for a full-time role at our Hawthorn East location. You will diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles to high standards, delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to efficient workshop operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Automotive Technology or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Mechanic in a workshop
• Knowledge of European vehicle repairs (VW, Audi, Volvo, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing and fluids
• Carry out service and repairs to engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems and other vehicle components
• Inspect vehicles and identify potential issues, providing customers with detailed reports and repair recommendations
• Utilise workshop equipment and tools safely and appropriately, maintaining high standards of workplace safety
• Complete accurate documentation of work performed, including job sheets and service records
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair timelines, costs and vehicle condition
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored
