Job summary

HRB Motors Pty Ltd in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our workshop team. You will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a range of vehicle makes and models, using modern diagnostic equipment.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000–$85,000 per year plus super, 38-hour week, full-time permanent employment, and opportunities for career development in a supportive workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) required.
• Experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
• Strong diagnostic skills (mechanical and electrical).
• Experience with modern diagnostic scan tools.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering and suspension components.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify mechanical defects.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Work safely and collaboratively within the workshop.
