Job summary
On The Go Autocare in Melbourne is seeking a capable mechanic to perform logbook servicing and repairs across European makes, including brakes, suspension, steering and driveline work.
The role requires a Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and 1–2 years' experience, with strong customer care and reliable work habits. Light diagnostics and scan tools are a bonus, with ongoing training available.
Qualifications
- Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) is required.
- 1–2 years' experience as a qualified mechanic.
- A clean, careful approach to customers' cars and the workshop.
- Diagnostic experience and confidence with scan tools (bonus).
- VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) and ARCtick refrigerant licence (bonus) are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Logbook and general servicing across all makes, with a focus on European vehicles
- Brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
- Roadworthy (RWC) inspections and repairs
- Fleet vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Accurate job notes and time recording in Mechanic Desk
- Collaborate with head mechanics and senior techs to keep jobs moving and maintain quality

- At least 1 to 2 years' experience as a qualified mechanic
- A clean, careful approach to customers' cars and to the workshop
- A good attitude, reliability and being easy to work with
- Diagnostic experience and confidence with scan tools (bonus)
- A VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) (bonus)
- An ARCtick refrigerant handling licence (bonus)
On The Go Autocare is a busy, independent mechanical workshop in Hoppers Crossing. We look after everyday drivers, European vehicles (Audi, VW, Mercedes and Porsche) and a growing list of fleet clients, including hospitals and trade businesses. Our team is small, so your work gets noticed. We run a clean, well-organised workshop with plenty of work coming through, and the business is growing fast.
Competitive pay: $35 to $42/hr + super, depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, no weekends
