Job summary

Alstom Australia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Team Leader for the Sydney Light Rail Fleet, based in Lilyfield, NSW. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll lead a skilled technician team to deliver safe, reliable maintenance outcomes and maximise fleet availability.

The role requires a rotating roster including morning and night shifts across weekdays and weekends. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Operations to drive performance, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams in a safety-critical environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience managing resources, priorities and workloads to hit targets.
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to implement changes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across functions.
• Rail, rolling stock or transport industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planned and corrective maintenance activities across the fleet.
• Maximise team and resource utilisation to achieve targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and maintenance standards.
• Oversee fault finding, servicing and repair of LRVs.
• Coach and develop technicians to build capability and performance.
• Drive process improvements and smarter ways of working.
• Improve fleet availability, reliability and operational performance.
• Foster a safety-focused, high-performing team culture.
