Otis Elevator Co. is seeking a Lift Installation Mechanic to install lifts, escalators, and travellators in Brisbane, Queensland.

The role, based in Brisbane, involves complying with codes and Otis specifications, with an initial 12-month fixed-term contract and rates set by the local EBA. You will be responsible for installing new equipment, overseeing modernization projects, and ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in adjustment/commissioning work is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work at heights.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have full working rights in Australia.
• Experience with lift installation and modernization is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with various levels of stakeholders and work with others in the field.
• Self-motivated, organized, and solutions-oriented.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks timely.

Responsabilités

• Install new equipment and modernization lifts while meeting safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure timely defect resolution during service handovers.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials; safeguard assets.
• Work in accordance with lift industry codes and Otis procedures.
• Follow Environmental Health and Safety policies and report issues.
• Contribute to the Quality System and participate in inspections.
• Engage with customers during handover inspections of installation and modernization projects.
• Identify process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.

We are currently looking fora Lift Installation Mechanic to be based in Brisbane, Queensland.

About you

You will be the face of the Otis brand and responsible for installing Lifts, Escalators, and Travellators in compliance with the relevant codes and Otis specifications and procedures.

• 12 month fixed term role
• Reports to the Project Manager
• This role falls under the local EBA, and your hourly rates are determined by your classification.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of New Equipment and Modernisation lifts and working to the highest safety and environmental standards while ensuring service targets are met.
• Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service / handing over inspection in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials properly and safeguard such property.
• Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes and standards.
• Comply with the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact the environment or any employee.
• Maintain and work on the Quality System.
• Attend customer handing over inspection/service inspections on installation and modernization projects.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.

What you will need to be successful

• Experience in Adjustment / Commissioning work would be beneficial.
• Working with heights, Basic Rigging and hold a valid driver’s license
• Hold full working rights in Australia
• Has relevant Lift experience and proven ability to work safely as part of a team or independently, depending on requirements.
• Enjoys communicating with various levels of stakeholders and working closely with others in the field.
• Solutions-oriented, independent, and well organized.
• Willing to travel in & out of the region and able towork unsupervised.
• Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.
• Able to plan and prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
