Job summary

Bolton Clarke in Bowen is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to support Diversional Therapy and Residential Managers in delivering tailored Leisure and Lifestyle programs for residents. You will help evaluate needs, collaborate with staff, and contribute to accreditation efforts.

Located at Cunningham Villas in the Whitsundays, this role emphasizes person-centred care, WHS compliance, and quality customer service in a not-for-profit aged care environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma preferred; Lifestyle Management, Gerontology, Social Work are preferred.
• Any related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
• Minimal experience as a Lifestyle assistant tailoring leisure and lifestyle programs in aged care services preferred.
• Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy preferred.
• Knowledge of WHS practices and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in care planning, person-centred practice and program management.

Responsibilities

• Analyses resident needs and interests; tailors activities to support psychology, social interaction and well-being.
• Collaborates with Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager to tailor activities with Nurse input.
• Evaluates effectiveness of plans and identifies areas for improvement.
• Contributes to development and implementation of innovative leisure programs and compliance.

About the Role

As the Lifestyle Assistant, you will assist Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager in implementing Leisure and Lifestyle Programs. You will evaluate individual resident’s needs, collaborate with volunteers, tailor personal care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of those plans to deliver exceptional customer service. You will contribute to the organisation's pursuit of accreditation for the Leisure and Lifestyle Program and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyses individual needs and interests, provides tailored support and stimulates personal growth in the areas of psychology, social interaction, emotions, spirituality, cognition, and physical well-being.


• Collaborates with the Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager to tailor therapeutic activities to meet residents' individual needs and preferences, in consultation with the Registered Nurse or other relevant staff.


• Evaluates the effectiveness of individual plans and activities and identifies areas for improvement.


• Participates in the development and implementation of innovative leisure and lifestyle program and ensures compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

About You

• Diploma preferred; Lifestyle Management, Gerontology, Social Work is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.


• Minimal experience as a Lifestyle assistant tailoring leisure and lifestyle programs in aged care services is preferred.


• Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy is preferred.

• Proficient in Legal & Regulatory Compliance, Care Planning, Person Centered Practice, Customer Needs Assessment and Program Management skills.
