Job summary

ISS Facility Management Pty Ltd is seeking a Lifeguard to supervise pool operations at the Woomera Defence facility. You will monitor swimmers, perform lifesaving duties, provide first aid, and support the overall fitness centre operations in a fixed-term contract.

Essential experience includes at least 2 years as a pool lifeguard, strong customer service and safety focus, and relevant certifications. Applicants should have a valid Driver's Licence and be prepared for a Defence environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Pool Lifeguard role.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word.
• Current Working with Children Check (where required)

Responsibilities

• Supervising patrons and ensuring a safe swimming environment at all times
• Monitoring pool activities and maintaining constant observation of swimmers
• Performing lifesaving and rescue activities when required
• Administering first aid and maintaining first aid supplies
• Conducting daily pool water quality testing and basic pool plant duties
• Testing defibrillators and maintaining accurate records
• Managing pool and facility bookings
• Assisting with gym equipment setup for Defence Physical Training Instructors
• Ensuring authorised patron access and sign-in compliance
• Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards
• Maintaining clean and presentable pool, change room, and facility areas

About the Role

As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising swimming pool operations and ensuring all lifeguarding activities are conducted to the highest safety and operational standards. You will actively monitor pool users, perform rescue and first aid duties when require, and support the overall operation of the Fitness Centre.

Minimum Requirements

• Australian Citizenship
• Provide a Clear Police check
• Ability to obtain a pre-employment medical clearance (including Drug & Alcohol testing)
• Relevant qualifications are essential
• Defence or military experience – highly desirable
• Open to obtaining a defence clearance through our process
