Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited is seeking a Lifeguard to support the Australian Defence Force at Holsworthy Barracks. Casual role with pay rate $29.00+ casual loading (approx $36.25 per hour). You will oversee pool operations, ensure safety, and provide first aid when needed.

You must hold a Lifeguard Award, WWC check, and Level 1 First Aid & CPR with oxygen administration abilities, plus security clearances. Australian citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard Award (for aquatic roles).
• Working with Children Check.
• Level 1 First Aid & CPR, with ability to administer oxygen.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Australian Citizenship is mandatory (Defence security clearance required).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the pool, ensuring compliance with water quality, safety, and legislative standards.
• Supervise facility users and maintain emergency response readiness, including lifeguard coverage.
• Support Sport & Recreation compliance standards across all fitness and aquatic areas.
• Conduct fitness centre inductions and provide customer support to facility users.
• Respond to emergencies, including first aid and oxygen administration where required.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
• Contribute to a proactive culture of safety, wellbeing, teamwork, and professionalism.

We’re seeking Lifeguard to join our team supporting the Australian Defence Force through our ESS business.

ESS delivers the best hospitality and support services to remote and Defence sites across Australia.

Sport, Recreation & Aquatic Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the pool, ensuring compliance with water quality, safety, and legislative standards.
