Job summary

Whitsunday Regional Council in Bowen, QLD invites applications for a Water and Wastewater Network Operations Worker (Licensed Plumber). This permanent full‑time role provides essential support to the network operations team, delivering reliable water and sewer services for the Whitsunday region.

You will assist with construction, maintenance, repair, and installation of assets, participate in on‑call rosters, and ensure safe operations in line with Council standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed plumber with experience in water and wastewater networks.
• Certifications in confined space, working at heights, trenching and shoring.
• Poly welding certification and drainage competencies beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction, maintenance and repair of water and sewerage infrastructure.
• Install, maintain and fault‑repair water, wastewater and sewerage assets.
• Inspect mains and service connections for safe, reliable delivery of services.
• Support installation of new water and sewerage infrastructure projects.
• Maintain plumbing infrastructure across the region.
• Respond to emergency callouts and rostered on‑call duties.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service to stakeholders.
• Work safely and in accordance with Council standards and procedures.
