Job summary

FGI Developments in Cairns, QLD is seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician to join our growing team. The role covers residential, commercial and industrial projects, with responsibilities to install, maintain and repair electrical systems on-site.

You will work across projects, read blueprints, ensure compliance with Australian standards, mentor apprentices and respond to service calls. A current Queensland electrical licence and 3–5 years post‑apprenticeship experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid electrical licence issued by the Queensland regulatory authority.
• 3–5 years post-apprenticeship experience as a licenced electrician.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and AS/NZS 3000 standards.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and drawings.
• Experience working at heights and in confined spaces with required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures per blueprints and Australian codes.
• Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot electrical faults.
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with construction teams to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of work, materials and hours per project.
• Operate electrical tools safely and responsibly.
• Mentor apprentices and junior electricians where applicable.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and service calls.
