Job summary

Vertical Transport Solutions in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a licensed electrician to join our team for an immediate start. You will perform elevator and escalator installations, modernisations, and related mechanical and electrical work on site, ensuring safety and quality.

Key duties include reading blueprints, installing wiring, connecting switchboards, testing circuits, and providing on-site training as needed. A white card, electrical licence, and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Electrical licence required.
• White card holder.
• Willing to obtain Working Safely at Heights.
• 2 years lift industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage installation environment and on-site communication with client representatives.
• Examine blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods.
• Measure and lay out installation reference points and install electrical systems for lifts.
• Test continuity of circuits and diagnose faults using electrical test instruments.
• Install, test and adjust lift electrical components; report progress and quality issues.

Due to our constant growth, we are seeking highly motivated experienced as licensed electricians to join our team for an immediate start.

Job Description

• Elevator and escalator installations
• Elevator and escalator modernisations
• Mechanical and Electrical installations
• Various other roles in the elevator and escalator industry

Responsibilities include the following:

• Managing the equipment installation environment during installation activities and on-site communication with the client representative. Examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
• Measuring and laying out installation reference points
• Selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
• Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
• Responsible for safe, high quality, and timely installation of the equipment following installation methods throughout the installation process
• Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
• Positioning and installing electrical switchboards
• Connecting electrical systems to power supply
• Testing continuity of circuit
• Installing, testing and adjusting electric parts of lifts
• Designing, installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of electric and hydraulic passenger and freight lifts, moving walkways and other lift equipment Responsible for reporting installation progress, quality issues and customer feedback to the installation supervisor
• Responsible for site documentation relating to time keeping, quality feedback, etc
• May be required by the supervisor to give training/coaching to trainees and helpers

Skills and Experience required

• Must have white card
• Must have or willing to obtain working safely at heights
• Ideally 2 years experience in the lift industry but not mandatory
• Electrical licence
• Good team player, attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Current Driver's License
