Job summary

The Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Library Assistant – Programs & Engagement to deliver community-based programs that connect people with library services beyond branches. You will help plan and run engagement activities including First 5Forever, digital literacy, author talks, workshops, home library service and programs for all ages.

Based in the Toowoomba CBD on a temporary part-time arrangement, you will contribute to promoting literacy and library usage across the region and

About the position

In the Library Assistant – Programs& Engagement position, you will deliver community-based programsand outreach initiatives that connect people with library servicesbeyond library branches. You will assist with planning andfacilitating a range of engagement activities, including First 5Forever programs, digital literacy classes, author talks,workshops, home library service and programs for adults, childrenand families. You will also work closely with branch staff tosupport the delivery of library programs, share expertise andresources, and ensure a consistent and high-quality experience forcommunity members across the region.

In this position, you will alsoassist in the provision of programs, services and communityengagement in the Toowoomba Region. You will promote literacy andlibrary usage, social inclusion, and the Toowoomba Region libraryservice within the community.

You will work under regulardirection.

• The salary range forthis Part time position is $44,405.27 - $48,046.94 gross perannum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65%superannuation.
• This is a TemporaryPart time (21.75 hours / week) position until 1 July 2029.
• The position is basedin the Toowoomba CBD, with parking provided.
• The work pattern for this position is:
  • Tuesday 9:00am - 4:15pm, with a 30 minute lunchbreak
  • Wednesday 9:00am - 2:00pm
  • Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm
  • Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm
