Job summary

RAC WA is seeking a dedicated Liability Claims Specialist to join the Home Claims team in Western Australia. You will manage complex liability and recovery claims, work with reinsurers, and support Home Claims Specialists, Assessors and Team Leaders from our Perth-based office.

The role is an initial 12-month contract/secondment with potential for permanency. A customer-focused mindset, strong relationship skills and a solid understanding of liability claims are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a customer service-focused team.
• Strong relationship management skills with members, staff and suppliers.
• Analytical mindset and the ability to make sound commercial decisions.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Resilience in handling difficult conversations and managing competing priorities.
• Experience/understanding of liability claims management is advantageous.
• Familiarity with insurance contracts and general insurance legislation desirable.
• Certificate IV or Diploma in General Insurance (ANZIIF endorsed) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain productive relationships with legal advisors, solicitors, and service providers.
• Provide guidance and support to Home Claims Specialists, Home Assessors, and Team Leaders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to maximise claim recoveries.
• Ensure compliance with claims guidelines, service standards, and the Insurance Code of Practice.

We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Liability Claims Specialist to join our Claims Services team within the Home Claims business unit. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for effectively managing home liability claims and high-value recoveries while delivering exceptional service to our members.
