Job summary

MMG Limited in Rosebery, Tasmania seeks an Operator - Pump Crew to ensure safe and efficient water management across the mine site. You will perform pre-start checks, operate pumps, and maintain water control systems under supervision, contributing to continuous mine operation and safety standards.

The role requires a commitment to zero-harm culture, a willingness to work as part of a team, and a manual driver's licence. Underground mining experience or heavy industry exposure is desirable.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
• Underground mining experience or experience in heavy industry.
• Valid manual Drivers licence.
• First Aid Certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-start safety checks on mining equipment.
• Complete all required shift reports.
• Effective handovers with cross-shift and supervisors.
• Carrying out workplace inspections.
• Operation, installation, maintenance of pumps to manage water flow and water management throughout mine.
• Management of water ingress system to ensure continuity of supply to the mining operation.

Operator - Pump Crew

Reporting to the Supervisor – Mine Services you will ensure that all aspects of operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with Company and Legislative standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities (however not limited to):

• Conducting pre-start safety checks on the mining equipment you are assigned to for the day.
• Completion of all required shift reports.
• Effective handovers with your immediate cross-shift and supervisors.
• Carrying out workplace inspections.
• Operation, installation, maintenance of pumps to manage water flow and water management throughout mine.
• Management of water ingress system to ensure continuity of supply to the mining operation.
• Ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) is used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.
• Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
