Acquire Intelligence is seeking a Level 3 Windows Engineer to own and secure a multi-site Microsoft environment supporting 10,000+ systems. You will lead Windows endpoint, AD, M365, Entra ID and Azure initiatives with autonomy and strong focus on reliability.

Based in Melbourne, you will mentor junior engineers across Australia and the Philippines, drive permanent fixes, automation and onboarding projects, and collaborate with delivery teams to raise security and operational standards.

Be the technical authority behind a complex Microsoft environment

Join Acquire Intelligence as a Level 3 Windows Engineer and take ownership of the technology that keeps our business and managed services clients running. Supporting more than 10,000 systems across multiple sites, Active Directory forests and Microsoft 365 tenants, you will work across a diverse, enterprise-scale environment where reliability, security and performance matter.

You will be the final escalation point for complex technical issues, driving problems through to permanent resolution rather than applying temporary fixes. From Windows endpoint engineering and on‑premises infrastructure to hybrid identity, Microsoft 365 and Azure, you will have the autonomy to make technical decisions, strengthen security and build automation that makes our environments easier to manage.

You will also play a key role in client onboarding, infrastructure improvements, audit readiness and mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 engineers across Australia and the Philippines.

What you bring

• Typically seven or more years of experience in Windows infrastructure and end‑user computing, including at least three years as a senior or Level 3 engineer within a managed service provider.
• Deep expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Kerberos, including complex replication and authentication troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows 11 endpoint engineering, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, application packaging and update management at scale.
• Strong Windows Server engineering, virtualisation using Hyper‑V and/or VMware, and backup and disaster recovery experience.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Conditional Access, privileged access management and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Practical Azure infrastructure experience, including virtual machines, networking, monitoring and backup.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph automation skills, with a track record of delivering reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Experience supporting multiple managed services clients, meeting contractual SLAs, handling technical escalations and maintaining separation between client environments.
• Exposure to security controls and audited environments under standards such as PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 or HIPAA.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls and Wi‑Fi to isolate network‑related infrastructure issues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, sound technical judgement and the ability to lead major incidents calmly, identify root causes and deliver permanent fixes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to engineers, clients and non‑technical stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a commitment to documentation, knowledge sharing, automation and mentoring junior engineers.
• A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant Microsoft certifications are highly regarded.
