Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to own the contracts function in-house. You will draft, negotiate, and finalise large contracts across procurement, sales, finance and IT, while advising the business on commercial risks and opportunities.

You will partner with the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs and other leaders to enable growth. You will bring 5+ years post-admission experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a collaborative, independent work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (essential) or dual degree in Law and a relevant discipline.
• 5+ years’ post-admission experience in a reputable commercial firm and/or in-house.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, execution and legal advisory skills.
• Demonstrated project, matter and contract management capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to influence across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and finalise a range of large contracts (procurement, sales, finance and IT).
• Provide commercially relevant legal advice across a broad range of business issues.
• Act as a genuine partner to internal stakeholders and departments.
• Support governance and compliance across the business.
• Manage disputes and regulatory matters as needed.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Location: Sunshine Coast HQ

We’re growing fast and our in-house legal team is growing with us.

This is a broad, hands-on, in-house role with contracts at its core. You will be the business’s first port of call for all contracts – drafting, negotiating and finalising a range of large contracts (from procurement and sales through to finance and IT). You will act as a genuine partner across the company and build trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders and departments.

Our Legal Team is committed to delivering high-quality legal and governance solutions that the business values and relies upon. We do this by providing timely, strategic, and practical support across all areas of the business.

In this role you will report to, and work closely with, the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, alongside our other Legal Counsel. You will provide commercially relevant legal advice on a broad range of business issues, with a strong focus on contracts and disputes.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys getting deals done, not just spotting risk. You communicate clearly, build trust quickly, and are comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment while backed by a leader experienced in the business.

To be successful, you will bring:

• A Bachelor of Laws (essential), or a dual degree in Law and a relevant discipline.
• 5+ years’ post-admission experience, gained within a reputable commercial firm and/or in-house environment.
• Strong skills in contract drafting, negotiation, execution, and legal advisory.
• Demonstrated project, matter, and contract management capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to influence and build relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.
• Results orientation and the ability to work independently.
• Experience in-house or in Agriculture or FMCG is desirable, but not essential.
