Far North Injury Lawyers in Cairns is seeking a proactive administrative assistant to support the day-to-day progression of client matters, working closely with the Principal and legal support staff.
You will maintain electronic client files, task lists, chronologies and critical dates, organise correspondence and records, and prepare basic documents under supervision. The role also involves liaising with clients, insurers and medical providers and providing compassionate administrative support.
Working closely with the firm's Principal and legal support staff, you will assist with the day-to-day administration and progression of client matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
maintaining electronic client files, task lists, chronologies and critical dates;
organising correspondence, records and disclosure documents;
preparing draft lists of documents, routine correspondence, forms and other basic legal documents under supervision;
requesting and following up medical, employment and other records;
communicating with clients, insurers, medical providers and other stakeholders;
assisting with briefs, applications and settlement documentation; and
providing general administrative support and compassionate client care.

You will ideally:
have a genuine interest in law and legal practice;
be studying law or another relevant discipline, or considering a future legal career;
communicate clearly and have strong written English;
be organised, accurate and attentive to detail;
be confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook and electronic systems;
understand the importance of confidentiality and professional conduct; and
be reliable, willing to learn and comfortable assisting clients who may be injured or distressed.
Previous legal or administrative experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
