Job summary

The University of Western Australia invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term appointment in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics to deliver high-quality undergraduate, honours and postgraduate teaching in Statistics and Data Science, with opportunities to contribute to Mathematics teaching and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics, Data Science or closely related quantitative discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, student-centred teaching and innovative learning experiences in Statistics and/or Data Science within a tertiary education environment.
• A developing track record of high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals, with evidence of research achievement and potential for competitive research funding success.
• Experience or potential in supervising student research projects, together with strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices, equity, diversity and collegial contribution across the University community, including willingness to undertake offshore teaching and international travel.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is part of the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing at The University of Western Australia. The Department delivers high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Statistics, Mathematics and Data Science while maintaining a strong research profile across areas including Applied Statistics, Industrial Modelling, Complex Systems, Analysis, Algebra and Combinatorics
