Job summary

Macquarie University invites applications for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy to contribute to the Doctor of Physiotherapy and other Health Sciences teaching. The role offers two salary bands (Level B or Level C) with additional superannuation and leave loading, and is based at Macquarie University, North Ryde.

Appointment is full-time for two years. The successful candidate will bring extensive physiotherapy teaching experience, clinical knowledge, and leadership to enhance curriculum

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, including a PhD.
• Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated academic and professional expertise in physiotherapy and/or health sciences, with capacity to teach into at least one or more areas (musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiorespiratory) relevant to the Doctor of Physiotherapy program.
• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery and management of lectures, tutorials, assessments and online learning.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collegial and/or multidisciplinary team environment and foster an inclusive learning experience for students.
• Demonstrated success in academic leadership in the delivery and/or development of units or courses using innovative teaching approaches, with evidence of positive outcomes (Level C).
• Evidence of advanced clinical practice experience relevant to physiotherapy education (Level C).
• Experience teaching into professionally accredited programs.
• Demonstrated contribution to physiotherapy education through curriculum development, educational innovation, leadership or professional engagement.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical and/or teaching and/or research in areas of neurological rehabilitation or geriatrics or paediatrics physiotherapy in an academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver teaching within the Doctor of Physiotherapy and other Health Sciences courses.
• Utilise professional and industry experience to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching within the DPT program and other Health Sciences courses.
• Lead and coordinate teaching activities in Physiotherapy and Health Sciences programs.
• Contribute to graduate research student supervision and academic leadership activities.

• Salary Package: Level B from $127,138 to $150,425 p.a. or Level C from $155,236 to $178,523 plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

The Role

Macquarie University is proud to offer a highly respected, innovative and evidenced-based Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) post graduate degree and is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our dedicated and ambitious Physiotherapy team. Our course combines contemporary coursework with over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical placements, providing students with an excellent grounding for their future career.

Reporting to the Head of School, Health Sciences and Nursing, and Course Director of Physiotherapy, you will utilise your professional and industry experience to make a critical contribution to the development and delivery of teaching within the DPT program and other Health Sciences courses. We seek a highly motivated and collaborative physiotherapist to join our School for appointment to either the Teaching and Leadership or Teaching and Research job family. You will have expertise in teaching and convening Physiotherapy and Health Sciences related programs, and research in these areas.

About You

You will possess a tertiary qualification in physiotherapy and be interested in sharing your professional experience to make a critical contribution to the development and delivery of learning and teaching within the DPT and other health sciences courses. You will have experience with, or a willingness to embrace, educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation. In addition, ideally you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the integration between research/practice and quality teaching, and how this integration can enhance student engagement.
