Job summary

The Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C) at University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney is a pivotal role to establish a new functional genomics and disease modelling capability. You will teach genetics and molecular biology, and build an independently funded program across UNSW and partner institutions.

Level B salary ranges AUD 133k–AUD 156k plus 17% superannuation; Level C AUD 161k–AUD 185k with super.

Qualifications

• PhD in a related discipline and demonstrated research leadership in genomics.
• Experience with genome engineering or perturbation approaches such as CRISPR-Cas systems.
• Proven ability to design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in molecular biology/genomics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a new functional genomics and disease modelling research capability.
• Teach genetics and molecular biology courses and supervise HDRs.
• Develop externally funded research programs and collaborate across UNSW and partner institutes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and student supervision in a collegial research culture.
