Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing to contribute to excellence in education and research. This teaching‑intensive role shapes the learning experience of nursing students while developing a growing research profile in mental health.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse in Australia (AHPRA) and completion of a doctoral qualification, or progress toward it.
• Demonstrated record of publication or non-traditional research output in quality outlets.
• Ability to achieve teaching quality and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Experience coordinating courses and developing collaborations with health services and external partners.
• Clinical experience in mental health nursing practice and a commitment to recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and delivery of course content.
• Shape the learning experience of nursing students and contribute to education and research in mental health.
• Develop collaborations with health services and external partners and contribute to School governance.
